EP08 Bai Yu couldn’t bear the pressure and jumped off the building, but was rescued

The police conducted an investigation at Shenmao Bank, interviewing each counter staff member, ultimately suspecting Tao Wuji’s mentor, Bai Jue, of leaking customer information because most of the leaked information was handled during her tenure. When Bai Yu was questioned, she appeared distraught, leading everyone to suspect her involvement in the bank’s misdeeds. However, Tao Wuji, upon seeing Zhu Qiang nearby, was shocked to realize the truth.

Under intense scrutiny, Bai Yu, overwhelmed, attempted to jump off the building. Everyone rushed to the rooftop to persuade her to calm down. Tao Wuji, pretending to offer coffee, silently mouthed “Zhu Qiang is the mole” to Bai Yu, who suddenly realized the truth and publicly accused Zhu Qiang. However, Zhu Qiang vehemently denied the accusations, causing Bai Yu to become emotional and almost fall off the building. In a critical moment, Tao Wuji rushed forward and saved Bai Yu from falling.

Meanwhile, the Swan Island project of Junlong Real Estate required a loan from Meisheng Bank, with funds intended for specific purposes. Shen Jing informed Tian Xiaohui about an upcoming surprise audit by Meisheng Bank the next day. Tian Xiaohui promptly reported this to Wu Xiaofei, and despite skepticism, Wu Xiaofei ordered the entire department to work overnight to cover up the misappropriation of funds.

Later, Miao Che and Zhao Hui summoned Tao Wuji for a meeting, urging him to reveal everything he knew. Knowing he couldn’t hide the truth from Miao Che, Tao Wuji confessed that Zhu Qiang had been strict about counter discipline, but had turned a blind eye to Bai Yu’s frequent restroom breaks due to her nursing needs, even covering for her occasionally.

After work, Tao Wuji messaged his girlfriend, learning that she was busy and refrained from disturbing her further. Colleagues worked tirelessly overnight, but Meisheng Bank representatives didn’t show up the next morning, leading to complaints directed at Tian Xiaohui. Even Director Chen publicly criticized her for being too hasty and demanded her resignation.

Feeling unjustly treated, Tian Xiaohui tearfully packed her things and left the company. Unexpectedly, Meisheng Bank representatives arrived at the same time. Wu Xiaofei hurriedly caught up with Tian Xiaohui, pleading with her to stay and even invited everyone to dinner that evening. Suddenly, Tian Xiaohui became a hero in the company’s eyes, and everyone’s attitude toward her changed dramatically.

While dining at a roadside restaurant, Tao Wuji unexpectedly met Zhao Hui and engaged in conversation with him. Learning that Su Jianren had assigned most of the Sunshine Plan’s clients to Tao Wuji and Cheng Jiayuan, Zhao Hui regarded it as a good opportunity. He advised Tao Wuji to quickly establish an industry team in the corporate business department, emphasizing the importance of understanding the industry to identify business opportunities.

Impressed by Zhao Hui’s insights, Tao Wuji was grateful for his guidance. Tian Xiaohui was surprised to see a high-ranking bank executive like Zhao Hui being so approachable in an ordinary eatery.

Shortly afterward, the police found a large amount of undeleted customer information on Zhu Qiang’s computer. Now, with Miao Che personally investigating his other misconducts, it meant Tao Wuji’s suspicion was correct, and Bai Yu was indeed innocent. Su Jianren didn’t have much faith in Tao Wuji, privately advising Cheng Jiayuan not to follow him, but Cheng Jiayuan disregarded his warning. The two went on a business trip to attend a lecture by Dr. Xia in another city, where Tao Wuji believed many industry leaders were present.
